'Life Main Risk Toh Uthana Padta Hai' : Vishram Sawant who made his debut as a director with Ram Gopal Verma in 'D'goes independent with his second venture with 'Risk'.
The movie is based on true story of Mumbai Police Force encounter specialist 'Daya Nayak'. In Risk lead actor Randeep Hooda
plays the character of a very righteous police office who will only listen to his uniform (vardi).
Suryakant (Randeep Hooda) is a honest police officer who is always looking out for the gangsters and the Mafia's around mumbai. He has a straight answer to all these guys and that's the bullet from his gun.
Suryakanth lives in a small house with his mother. The story goes with the mafia Vinod Khanna who is at top of the hit list of Suryakanth's encounter, is settled in Dubai with is brother aslam and his mentally disabled son. Vinod Khanna dissapeared from mumbai after he found that living there would be dangerous. Now he is controlling all his underworld business form Dubai.
Suryakanth is always trying to get to Vinod Khanna hoping that one day he will come to mumbai and he will get a chance to arrest him. Devki(Seema Biswas) is considered to be the right hand of Vinod Khanna is playing a pivotal role in this movie. Vinod Khanna considers Devki as his sister, who is a well established politician in mumbai.
She manages the underworld business of Vinod Khanna in mumbai. The so called police comissioner is also linked with Vinod Khanna. The comissioner always tries to bully Suryakanth. One positive help for Suryakanth is his senior DCP. DCP gives him the guidance and necessary information for completion of the mission.
Shradha (Tanushree Dutta) is very close to Suryakanth. They are in a relationship for sometime. This is probably the weak link in the story. There's no scope of any role for Shradha. She is there in the movie for just a mere glamor girl.
Suryakanth takes a gamble and tells DCP that he wants to arrest Vinod Khanna. He first Targets Devki. Soon he finds enough evidence against Devki and somehow gets the arrest warrant against her. But during the arrest of Devki at her house somebody(Set up done by Vinod Khanna) open fires. Suryakanth had to take some action and he return fires at the person. One person gets hit by Suryakanth's bullet and dies on the spot. Now action is taken against Suryakanth that he has killed an innocent person who was instead a paid killer. Somehow the opposition's advocate proves that it was the mistake of Suryakanth and he found guilty.
Suryakanth is suspended and further action is taken against him, saying that he is linked with other mafia 'Anna'. he is sent to jail and there comes a surprise call from Vinod Khanna. Suryakanth now takes a big risk to join hands with Vinod Khanna. he has a big master plan in his mind. he's freed from jail and the case is taken back from him and the post is returned to him. Vinod Khanna thinks that Suryakanth is now his man and will work according to him.
But Suryakanth plays a smart game, he tells Vinod Khanna that he will setup Anna this time. Vinod Khanna thinks that this is the right opportunity, where he will be able to finish Anna his only enemy. He sends his brother Aslam for this job. Aslam kills Anna and then stays at opposition party's MLA's house.
Suryakanth takes advantage of this and kills Aslam and the MLA that night. Now he gets enough evidence to bring Vinod Khanna back to mumbai. Mumbai police keeps Vinod Khanna in remand, while the case is going on. As every politician does with the help of corruption , Vinod Khanna gets a clean sheet.
Suryakanth thinks there's only one way by which he canl get the justice, he goes to the jail and kills Vinod Khanna inside the cell not before sacrificing himself.
